Mother's Day

Mother's Day is sneaking behind you fast, people. And these were what I've been working on last night.

It's the second Sunday in May and you have less than 2 weeks to impress and to show your love for your Mom, Mak, Mummy, Amma or Ummi.

Razzle Dazzle Cookies have teamed up with Farah Florist & Gifts to come up with a perfect gifts for your moms.

See the flyers below. For a mere RM75, the woman who painstakingly listen to your babbles when you were a baby, change your soiled diapers and wipe your puke and you thrown spaghetti off the floor, will receive a bouquet of flowers, 3 of my cookies and cupcakes to boot.

So, sons and daughters. Call Farah at 019.220.4939 or email her at farahfloristngifts@gmail.com

DarlingCandy's Wedding Cookies

Images from DarlingCandy

DarlingCandy who ordered my cookies for her sister's wedding posted an entry in her blogspot. And I found out that she's a great digital scrapbooker. Wow! I wanted to try my hands at that. Hmm need to make more hours in a day for that. How now brown cow?

I feel so unworthy at the moment and seeing the cookies all dressed up digitally, made me just swooned. *kembang semangkuk*

*perasan*

Thanks DarlingCandy. I learned a lot from making these and it was so much fun too. What a perfect ending for the cookies. In tummies instead of on a mantelpiece. They are after all, cookies!

Monogram Cookies. More

These were requested by MrGart's colleague at Putrajaya. He's just transferred into this office and I barely know his colleague, so pardon me, if I cannot remember who ordered this.

Anyhow.

I hope that the wedding goes well for I and R.

Happy Birthday Wan Nur Annissa

Gartred (my twin, since I'm Gartblue) has been or rather her daughter, Nisa has been pestering me for cookies for her birthday.

So, I finally succumbed to the pressure since last weekend was rather light, in terms of cookie load.

Nisa wanted to have a class party for her birthday. so I figured, she'd love these dresses for her girlfriends.

And more girlfriends' stuff. Hearts with her name.

And since Gartred had no definite designs, I thought I'd do some rounds and decorated them rather masculinely, considering there would be boys around and dresses and hearts aren't exactly macho stuff to be strutting along. :)

It turned out that I so so love these rounds with her name and age, bordered with a bunch of dots. Simple, but effective. I like!

Anyway, Happy Belated Birthday, Nisa!

Cookies Class at Cake Connection

I've been conducting a Fun With Cookies classes (either adults or children) at Cake Connection since November 2008. It gets particularly fun when we have a theme like Valentine's or Animals cos I go all out to think about the designs and the cutters and what nots.

Due to Cake Connection's streamlining of their classes schedule, I will now conduct a Cookies Class every other month instead of monthly now. So, I can breathe a little easier. The classes are fun, seriously. But the preparation is a lot too.

Anyhow. These pictures are from my Fun with Cookies class the Saturday before last i.e. 28th March 2009.

I made 6 cookies per student with extras, of course for breakages and accidents *opps* during class. Since there were only ladies this time around, I made a WEDDING DRESS, BUTTERFLY, HEART, FLOWER, ROUND (for either spider web, baby bib or anything a round cookie can be) and CUPCAKE (this I just bought but never tried yet).

So, enjoy these slightly blurry pictures. I forgot my camera (it's in the other handbag. Don't smirk yourself. I'm sure you've used up this excuse too. Hahahah)

Wedding Dress in simple dots designs. This was actually my demo cookie.

This turned out to be a lot of fun. Especially with the sprinkles on top of the cupcake. Must remember to use the cutter for my next children's class. Yikes!

Although my cookies are typically decorated with swirls and dots on top of the flooded cookies, in classes, I aim to teach the students a more basic way to decorate cookies. It's a wet-on-wet technique. This flower was made by flooding the whole cookie with white icing. Then for the petals, I used a scroll of wet pink icing and used a toothpick to swirl it for that marbled look.

For the middle part, I dropped dots of pink, blue, yellow and purple wet icing and again, used my best friend, the TOOTHPICK to just swirl it around. Pretty!

Once of my student's creations.

Another plateful of cookies.

The students.

Catherine busy at work with Nancy (co-owner of CakeConnection) admiring. Nancy having watched my for many months doing the class, decided to join the class too and made her own cookies. Hahaha. I hope she had fun.

But the best part of the class was the eating of the cookies, freshly baked from the oven when we do the demo for the cookies. Ahhh!

Anyhow. Next class will be in May 2009. Once the schedule is out, I'll holler. In the meantime check out the fun and practical classes at CakeConnection.
